As we document everything, to help support our efforts, we're offering this monthly subscription of seasonally themed Black eco poems delivered to you daily (Monday–Thursday) via text. The subscription includes 16 poems a month 4 poems a week, for $1 per poem. Across 4 days the poems will thematically move through tree strata from root to trunk, to branches, to leaves.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eAt Black Forest, we do everything in 4s and 40s as poetic justice for all the 40 acres and a mule never received. We love 16 poems and 4 days a week for its references to 16 bars and 4 day work weeks and affordances of time to reflect. However, as Andre 3000 expresses in Sixteen with Rick Ross, “[when] 16 ain’t enough,” so some weeks we plan to send bonus poems on dates relevant to Black American context and Pan-African movements.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eProfits from this service will support managing this service alongside our archive, commissioning new poems and recordings, buying licenses for older poems and recordings, and developing the technology for the archive and our soon-to-be-released poetry voice hotline. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis service is part of Black\u003cspan\u003e Forest School, a series of programs and network of spaces (including libraries) focused on archiving and presenting Black perspectives on nature across various forms of expression and modes of knowledge.
